Mr. Caton: No bell.
Question: Was there ever a bell?
Mr. Caton: No, not that I know of. I don't think so.
Question: How big was the bomb shelter?
Mr. Caton: Well, we had no bomb shelter as such. We just got shelter
in the building. But the only buildings were the
cafeteria and the library and the very main building.
Question: Were there any portables?
Mr. Caton: Yes we had two one room army barracks just out beyond the north wing and those were there for just about a year or two. I guess it was. Well in fact when I first came here they were just completing the west wing. Two wings going north and south and one east and west. Those were added after the building was built. Which includes where the two basement rooms are. Or were anyway.
Question: When you were here was there a 7th grade?
Mr. Caton: No 7th grade.
Question: How many kids were there?
Mr. Caton: About 780 to 790. Twenty four teachers, one P.E. teacher, myself and 2 custodians was the staff at that time. No librarian, no aids, no secretary or adult helpers. But that changed pretty fast, thank goodness, as time went along.
